Worship
Sundays 10:30 a.m. | Sunday School meets Prior to Worship at 9:30 a.m.
Our goal in worship is to exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the preaching of God's Word, the faithful administration of the sacraments (baptism and the Lord's Supper), corporate prayer, faithful stewardship, and inspiring music. Though we will embrace many of the beautiful historic elements that followers of Christ have enjoyed for generations (hymns, creeds, prayers, etc.), we also seek to worship in a culturally relevant manner.
We believe worship should be both celebrative and reflective—excited about the fact that we who were once dead in our sins have been made alive in Christ, yet simultaneously humbled by the fact that we are sinners in the presence of a holy God. Worship must be thoroughly God-centered; He is the starting and ending point of all we do in worship.
We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of every month.
If you’ve never been to Community Presbyterian Church before, here’s a little information about what to expect:
Seating
Our worship service is held in our sanctuary located in the building on the left side of the street. When you come to our doors, our greeters will be there to welcome you with a smile, give you a bulletin, and direct you to the sanctuary. Members and guests visit in the foyer area before entering the sanctuary for worship. Once you enter the sanctuary, feel free to sit wherever you’d like in our three sections of seating. If you need assistance, our deacons/ushers are there to help you.
Attire
Here at CPC we are more casual in our attire, so please come as you are! Jeans are perfectly acceptable.
Nursery & Children’s Worship
We welcome children of all ages to CPC! Nursery is provided during worship for children ages birth through age 2. If you want to drop off your little one in the nursery before the service, one of our greeters will direct you where to go. You are certainly welcome to bring your child into the service as well. If you ever need to step out with your child, our deacons in the foyer can direct you to a place where you can get some quiet time.
During the sermon, preschool children ages 3-5 are invited to attend children’s worship. Children are brought back into the service at the close of the sermon to participate in the offering and benediction.
Prior to the service, feel free to visit our Kids Korner and grab a children’s bulletin and other items available to help keep your child engaged during the service.
Offering
As a guest, you do not need to feel obligated to participate in the weekly offering that supports Community Presbyterian Church and its ministries.
